First Impressions

Hi Aubrey, and thank you so much for inviting me over today to chat a bit about First Impressions. This will be my second release with Baronet Press, and I’m loving working with them again. Here’s the super-sexy cover they made for me.

I never stop being surprised by people. I think that’s a good thing. The day people stop amazing me half the fun will go out of life. It’s no surprise than that I should want to write a story about the amazing hidden depths that we can find, if we take the time to look.

Both Aidan and George jump to conclusions. Each thinks they have the other sussed, based on what’s there to see on the surface. They soon realise that life is a lot more interesting than that and discover they have a lot in common once they scratch below the veneer. George is intrigued by the kinky attic playroom in Aidan’s house, and even more bemused by the unfamiliar desires she starts to recognise in herself as she contemplates the wicked things he might do to her in there. If she wants a taste of what he can offer, she has only to ask…

Here’s the blurb for First Impressions

First Impressions can be deceptive.

Aidan Blake needs a plumber. Fast. His boiler is dead, his creaky old house crumbling around him. When his elderly neighbour recommends a local trader, George Mahon, Aidan jumps at the prospect of hot water and warm radiators.

But George, short for Georgina, is not exactly what he had in mind. He was expecting
something else entirely. A man for one thing, not the gorgeous single mother he finds in his house at the end of a long day of work.

Aidan turns out to be full of surprises too. Who would have imagined the smartly dressed businessman would have a BDSM playroom in his attic and a collection of whips and canes that makes George’s head spin. And her bottom clench, though that’s another matter entirely. What does a girl have to do to get to play with those toys?

Just ask, it would seem. As they enter into a professional and personal agreement which soon blossoms into a sultry, kinky relationship, George continues to be surprised by Aidan's kindness and generosity, not to mention his skill with a spanking paddle.

First impressions aside, the two begin to build something together. And while they peel back the layers to discover their hidden depths, the old house yields up the mysteries of its own secret past. They soon realise that at first glance, nothing is ever quite as it seems.

And an excerpt…
Aidan wrapped the tights around her wrists and tied a quick knot, then tested his handiwork by slipping his fingers under the stretchy fabric. “Is that comfortable?”
“I think so.” She gave an experimental tug. The restraint stretched a little, but held firm. George seemed to accept this and offered him a tremulous little smile.
“Good. Now, we need your skirt out of the way. May I?”
“Yes, Sir.” She watched him as he reached for the hem of her skirt and drew the loose jersey material up onto her back. It fell across her bound hands in loose folds. Aidan pulled up the front section too, tucking that under her stomach.
She closed her eyes. The moment of truth had arrived.
A waft of air across her buttocks emphasised the fact that she was bared to him. It made everything real. She shivered, though the room was not cold.
“What will you use?” Her voice was steady, more or less.
“This.” He leaned over to open a drawer below the worktop and withdrew a cooking spatula, the plastic, non-stick type. “It’s fairly light, but enough to create a sting. I think perhaps six strokes with this, then I’ll take you over my knee and finish off with a hand-spanking.”
“Finish off? I thought… I mean, will there be any—any more? Apart from spanking, I mean.”
“Let’s take it a step at a time. If you want more, after, you can ask me. You can ask me for anything you want. Okay?”
“Okay.” Her expression was confused, a little doubtful perhaps, but Aidan knew the time for discussion was passed. She needed this to happen, and soon. He laid the spatula on the table beside her hip and covered her soft buttock with his palm. He stroked her, tracing large circles across her bottom, pressing harder as she writhed under his touch.
“Is that nice?”
“Yes, Sir.”
“And this?” He curled his fingers so his nails scratched at her skin.
“Yes Sir, that too.”
He smiled to himself. She would love the cane. Eventually. He reached for the spatula.
“Oww!” George let out a squeal as the first stroke landed across her upturned bottom. She wriggled, but made no attempt to stand up.
Aidan waited a few moments, then dropped the second spank, just below the faint pink smudge left by the first. He was keeping the strokes light, but still she yelped again.
“Too hard?” He thought not, but there was no harm in making sure.
“No Sir, it’s fine. Just a little… it takes some getting used to, that’s all.”
“I daresay. Ready?”
She nodded and settled.

More about me…
I’ve been an avid reader of fiction for many years, erotic and other genres. I still love reading, the hotter the better. But now I have a good excuse for my guilty pleasure – research.
I tend to draw on my own experience to lend colour, detail and realism to my plots and characters. An incident here, a chance remark there, a bizarre event or quirky character, any of these can spark a story idea.
When not writing – which is not very often these days - my time is divided between my role as resident taxi driver for my teenage daughter, and caring for a couple of dogs, two tortoises.  And a very grumpy cockatiel.
I have twenty seven (at the last count) titles on general release with publishers on both sides of the Atlantic, and I have several more in the pipeline. All my books feature BDSM. I write explicit stories, always hot, but they offer far more than just sizzling sex. I like to read about complex characters, and compelling plots, so that’s what I write too. Strong, demanding Doms are a given, often paired with new submissives who have a lot to learn.
I have a pile of story ideas still to work through, and keep thinking of new ones at the most unlikely moments, so you can expect to see a lot more from me.
