Alien Indiscretions

I'm not exaggerating in the least when I say this book had me freaking out from page one. Okay, not the normal prologue, page one. Everyone knows that's for the newbies.

No, the gut punch of a prelude. We find out some major news that set some catastrophic sh%# in motion. If you follow Tracy St. John, you know she's been teasing us with ominous claims that everything in Kalquor was going to be changing come Book 9. All we hapless fans could do was speculate.

There will be no spoilers here, but Oh. My. GOD. The huge subplot of this book rocked the foundation of my favorite make believe world. The goings on had me biting my nails and turning pages--when I wasn't rereading some select dirty scenes.

Fans of Kalquor are going to be freaking the f#@% out. I know I am. This book gave me a bit of a book hangover.

I feel like I've been waiting for Cissy and Clan Diltan's story forever. Alien Indiscretions blew me away. It was well worth the wait and exceeded my expectations. Tracy St. John seamlessly blends the weightier undertones of the subplot with the light, gloriously sexy main story.

Cissy is all that we could ask for in a fabulously naughty heroine, with a big heart. Like most all Tracy St. John's heroines, Cissy is not only relatable but the kind of person I'd want to hang out with. She takes one look at sexy, dynamic Diltan and wants nothing to do with the man she knows must be an arrogant prig. How can he not be?

Now for Clan Diltan...Diltan is the naughty councilman we met in Alien Interludes, An Improper Proposal. Since that story Diltan has been on the straight and narrow. When Cissy and Tasha land on Kalquor, he actually has no plans in pursuing either sister. He's had quite enough of the Imperial Fam, thank you very much.

Then his clan is unexpectedly matched up with Tasha, the seemingly prim and proper sister. On paper she is the perfect Matara for Clan Diltan. His Imdiko, Wal, is a high ranking judge and his Nobek, Rolat runs the correctional facilities of Kalquor.

Clans in Kalquor have limited opportunities to claim a Matara. Women are limited, and you can't even date one unless you've come up in the lottery. He owes it to his clan to at least try dating Tasha.

But when Diltan, Wal, and Rolat show up for the date all they can see is Cissy. Every wet and glistening inch of her delectable body. Wal and Rolat are very vocal in their preference for Cissy. They know which sister they want as their Matara, and they are willing to play dirty to get her. Diltan is a little more reluctant to accept his attraction to the unsuitable, wild sister, but damned if he was going to let her date young unsuitable clans when she should be theirs.

The Diltan/Cissy clash is yummy to read, and makes it all the more satisfying when they finally admit they love each other. The chemistry between Cissy and all three men is electric. I adore Wal and Rolat. They tempered Diltan's self importance and helped not only the reader see Diltan as a loveable character, but Cissy too.

The story blew me away, and the sex...

Oh yeeeeaaahhh

Tracy St. John did it again. The sex scenes are plentiful, and so damned hot. If you're not biting your lip and squeezing your thighs together in arousal while reading these love scenes, you need to check your pulse. Or consult a doctor.

Though most of the Kalquor series could be read as standalones, I'm going to go out on a limb and say this one might not have as much of an emotional impact for readers not familiar with the other books in the series.

If you haven't read this book, strap in. It's quite the ride!

Couch Time With Tracy St. John

I'm super excited to have one of my all time favorite authors, Tracy St. John, here with me today! She is answering some questions and sharing a tantalizing excerpt from her new book Michaela. This story is part of the Clans of Kalquor universe, and features an intersex human heroine. I can't wait to talk to Tracy about Michaela and possibly get her to tell us about what she's working on now.

Aubrey: Tracy, first and foremost, who are these delicious men you've brought with you today, and can I touch them?

Tracy: These are the Clan-destine Strippers, straight from Kalquor. Their act consists of thumping their chests, stomping about, and taking clothes off. I still can’t convince these guys they should try dancing, but by the time they’re down to their G-strings, I no longer care.

Touch all you want, but be advised that they expect to be allowed to touch back!

Aubrey: I can live with that. <eyes up wall of man and tries not to drool> Right. Where was I?

We first met Michaela Blake in Clans of Kalquor book two, Alien Rule. She's kind of a fan favorite. When you wrote Michaela as a secondary character, did you know you were going to write her book?

Tracy: That was nowhere on my radar. My publisher at the time had very strict rules about manlove – it was a no-no. Having intersex Michaela in Alien Rule was kind of pushing my luck with getting it accepted, but the acquisitions editor was very cool about it. She sent me a contract immediately. However, I knew the boundary of Michaela getting her own book was one that could not be crossed with that publisher. At the time, I couldn’t imagine taking Kalquor to anyone else or self-publishing, so I never thought she would get a book of her own.

My first inkling that I should write Michaela’s story was after I published the short story collection Alien Interludes. I asked readers in a poll which of the short stories was their favorite. ‘Michaela’s Child’ won hands down.

Aubrey: This is the first book you've ever written with an intersex human as the main character. I imagine there had to be challenges writing her story. Plus, much of the story runs parallel to Alien Rule. It seems like it would be a massive undertaking. Was there anything especially challenging? Anything that surprised you?

Tracy: The hardest part of writing Michaela as a character was to not sensationalize or over-sympathize. Doing those could have made her a caricature instead of a believable person. She was simply a normal woman in extraordinary circumstances. I approached her like most of my characters: how do I feel I would behave in her place? How does one behave when she has been forced to hide her true identity, lived in fear, and pretended to be someone she is not? How does she act when she is finally allowed to be herself? How much of the internalized suffering comes out?

Keeping the continuity correct between the two books was the bigger headache. Matching up dialogue and action sounds like it should be easy, but it’s not. Two people never hear the same conversation the exact same way. There are a few differences between the viewpoints in the books. The tricky thing was that I had to write the same scenes over from a different perspective of a different woman with a different history coloring her experience of the event.

I had to decide, do I maintain everything word for word in Michaela that was written in Alien Rule, knowing that this is not the way life in the real world works? Or do I stick with hearing and feeling and seeing from that character’s unique perspective? I went with unique perspective, which is why alert readers will find some small inconsistencies between the two books.

Aubrey: I really enjoyed how you intergrated Alien Rule into the story from a different perspective. Phenomenal job. On a lighter note; Kalquorians have two penises each. On top of that Michaela has her own little penis. Have you ever caught yourself forgetting to add a penis?

Tracy: No, I can honestly say I’m always well aware of every single penis I’m playing – er, dealing with.

Aubrey: That's just another reason I greatly admire you, Tracy. You're always on top of things. I love your Kalquorians and I always pick favorites. Dramok Korkla, Nobek Raxstad, and Imdiko Govi. Do you have a favorite? Be honest.

Tracy: I love each of the guys for different reasons, but I almost always go with the Nobek. It’s the same with this book, particularly after I saw the model my cover artist used for Raxstad – yow. Bring me Lidon from Alien Conquest and sandwich me between those two, please!

Aubrey: Nobek sandwich? That sounds as delightful as it does dangerous. I feel like that should come with a “please consult your doctor before participating” type warning.

You just put those of us following Shalia's Diary through the ringer. Which you warned us you were going to do. I have to ask: What can we expect for this next installment? How far along are you in the series?

Tracy: I needed a break after all the darkness of Shalia 4. I decided to go with something not so intense, and this fifth installment fits that nicely. That being said, with Halloween looming before me as I wrote the latest storyline I wanted to play with something a bit spooky. I’m a fool for ghost stories and things that go bump in the night...we’ll see plenty of that in the next few weeks of Shalia’s Diary.

I’m working on the sixth storyline now, and I’m not that far into it yet. For that one, I was inspired by a common trope in science fiction television shows. I’m a huge fan of Star Trek, Stargate, and Babylon 5. I took a page out of their playbooks for Shalia 6, and it’s shaping up nicely. That’s all I’m going to divulge for now. Saying any more will give away too many surprises.

Aubrey: Eek! I can't wait. I know your next Clans of Kalquor book is Alien Indiscretions with Cissy and Clan Diltan. On behalf of FoKs everywhere, I have to ask, when do you think we may have this one in our greedy little hands?

Tracy: Well, you know I’ve had some delays with my writing this past year due to personal issues. On top of those, I had a ton of book rights reverting to me. That meant re-editing and formatting to release my own independently published versions. Some of those books demanded major re-writes. That meant Alien Indiscretions, which I had originally hoped to publish this past summer, kept getting delayed.

I’m still dealing with re-issues, plus I’m working on getting all my books on All Romance eBooks’ site. However, I have made Alien Indiscretions my priority, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will get it out early in 2015.

Aubrey: You write a lot of kink. Delicious naughty, dirty kink. Do you have a favorite? Spanking? Anal play? Bondage? Getting your toes sucked on?

Tracy: I like a lot of things, but the most important ingredient for me is being dominated. I love submitting to someone who is strong and confident. Power exchange excites me because it goes beyond the physical ... it involves a mental quality. Kink that starts in the brain makes all the other body parts respond much better.

Aubrey: Your own personal top three fantasy scenarios? Go.

Tracy: You said ‘fantasy’, so I’m assuming these are not scenarios that have to be possible in reality. In that case:

First – abduction and seduction by a Kalquorian clan. Yes, I fantasize about my own creation. All the time!

Second – being a virgin princess with a harem of men tasked with teaching me all the ways of lovemaking.

Third – me and the men of True Blood. Please and thank you.

Aubrey: Wowzers. I especially like number two. Personal favorite scene in Michaela and why?

Tracy: When Raxstad and Michaela get busy in his hospital bed. Raxstad, despite being injured and flat on his back, is so in control of Michaela. That kind of sensual power and knowledge of what makes his lover surrender to his demands ... I find that incredibly sexy.

Aubrey: That was my favorite, too! Clan Korkla really turned up the heat in this story. You have some scrumptious scenes peppered throughout. <sigh>

Okay, random question; if Clan Korkla went to the movies, what movie would they go see and why?

Tracy: I think they would love Shaun of the Dead. After a day of dealing with political intrigue (Korkla), emotionally-wrenching trauma (Govi), and getting shot at (Raxstad), I see the boys wanting to kick back and laugh. An uncomplicated, hilarious comedy would be the perfect escape.

Aubrey: I could see that. They are a humorous bunch.

Thank you for stopping by and letting me pick your brain! As always, feel free to leave any of the guys here.

Tracy: I think you have your pick of the line-up. Try not to wear them out too fast!

Aubrey: I'm not making any promises.

All right everyone, if you're looking for a sci-fi hot enough to melt your Kindle, look no further!

Michaela is now available from Amazon, Amazon UK, Smashwords, Nook, and in. print

Michaela Blake has lived with a secret her whole life. Born an intersex, she’s hidden in plain sight from Earth’s religious tyranny, posing as a male to avoid being discovered and executed. Now that she’s escaped to Plasius, she is free to explore the other side of the intersex coin and be the woman she’s always felt she is.

Being both genders has left its scars on Michaela, however. She cannot imagine any man loving her ... never mind a Kalquorian clan made up of three men. Yet joining a clan is her only hope for salvation, her only sure way to escape Earth’s judgment.

Korkla, Govi, and Raxstad can’t believe their luck. They’ve been given the opportunity to court the rarest being in the known universe by the Crown Princes of Kalquor. However, to win the captivating Michaela, they must first get past her despair and self-doubt ... not to mention a jealous ex-girlfriend and murderous kidnappers. Still, saving the intersex Earther from others is not half as daunting as saving her from herself.

Please note: this story contains graphic depictions of men loving men and men loving an intersex (male/female) individual. Elements of BDSM, including discipline and bondage, are included.

This is a companion story to Clans of Kalquor 2: Alien Rule.

Excerpt:

Michaela had never danced with such passion before. Maybe it was because of the thousands of intoxicating flowers ornamenting the city’s center. They sent their aphrodisiacal scent to fill her lungs and erase her nervousness of sexual promise. Maybe it was the sight of the stone altar across the square. It was upon that surface where she’d watched Plasian youths give their virginity in celebration of reaching the age of consent. Maybe it was the sheer joy of dancing a wild entreaty to violent sex, with light manacles and chains around her wrists.

More probably it was the sight of three Kalquorians at the foot of the stage, glowering at her with barely contained ferocity.

Seeing those purple eyes riveted on her made Michaela’s head swim more than the aroma of the flowers. Korkla, Raxstad, and Govi were obviously pissed off. They were also blatantly aroused.

Michaela was barely aware of anything else. She knew Jessica danced on the other side of the stage with the Crown Prince Clan watching her. Many Plasians crowded against the massive Kalquorians and the stage, watching them perform. Some fucked each other in broad daylight. The festival looked primed to descend into a mass orgy at any moment. It probably would the moment the dance ended.

Michaela paid the Plasians no mind. She didn’t even think about the hideous statue that loomed over the altar several yards away, though it was the vision of nightmares. To Michaela, the thing looked like a winged Plasian, if said Plasian was half bat and half dead oak tree. Jessica had said it was one of the planet’s ancient and forgotten deities. Michaela thought the thing should not just be forgotten, but also destroyed. Seeing the young people shedding their virginity under the leering creature had been downright creepy.

Then Clan Korkla had shown up, and all of Michaela’s thoughts of the ugly statue had ceased to exist. Her heart leapt with savage joy to see them arrive, looking furious enough to storm backstage where she watched them while hidden behind curtains. Her plan to make them jealous had worked. Now she had to make them mad with lust as well, mad enough to claim her without any more caution.

She’d taken the stage with a vengeance, matching the men’s black stares with her own. They had courted her and turned her away. They had teased her and left her wanting. Spurred by agonized wanting and the inhibition-killing flowers, Michaela was determined to have her way.

I will have you, she thought at the men as she defied their anger with a dance every bit as ferocious as their expressions. Every step she performed was a blatant dare for them to take her.

You cannot resist me. Make me yours.

She’d watched the newly matured Plasian girls give up their virginity on the altar. Now it was Michaela’s turn. She would not be denied. Not this time. Not ever again.

You want me. Take me now!

The fierce drumbeats suddenly ended, finishing the dance. Michaela dropped to the stage, playing the role of the reluctantly vanquished slave girl, overcome and submitting to her masters. Tumultuous applause crashed against her ears, applause she cared nothing for. She lay gasping for air, waiting to see if fantasy would consent to become reality.

Something low and dangerous rumbled over the cheers. It started off like a distant roll of thunder, and then grew to the sound of an enraged animal growling. Michaela’s heart, already galloping from the exertion of the energetic dance, pounded faster than ever. She raised her head and looked toward the bestial noise.

There was the blurred motion of something leaping from the ground onto the stage. Then Raxstad appeared, standing over her with fangs bared. The huge Nobek looked bigger than Michaela remembered him being. His muscular shoulders were a mile across. His reaching hands were bear paws. He resembled nothing remotely civilized.

Couch Time With Tracy St. John

I'm so excited to be sitting here with my favorite erotic sci-fi author, the wonderful and talented Tracy St. John. Hello Tracy, thank you for coming for a visit.

Tracy: I'm thrilled to be here! Thanks for the invite. I love your blog.

Aubrey: Thank you <peaks to the side of the room> I have to say Tracy, I'm a bit distracted.  I had no idea you were going to be escorted by Kalquorians. Had I known you take your work with you when you travel I would have been begging for you to come over months ago.

Tracy: Oh, these guys follow me everywhere. I never get a break form them.... not that I'm asking for one. Except when I'm in dire need of sleep. There are way too many nights when I wake up to pee, then crawl back into bed thinking I'm going right back to dreamland, and instead some Kalquorian snuggles close and says, "Hey, I've got a new adventure for you." Which would be great if he was talking about us having sex, but no, it's always about a story. He'll keep me awake for two or three hours, yapping about a new scene or even an entire book. There's got to be a Kalquorian version of kryptonite for nights like that somewhere. Maybe I should be put a Tragoom outside my door.

Aubrey: Did he just growl? <shiver>

Tracy: Kalquorians do that a lot, particularly the Nobeks. Especially when they hear the word 'Tragoom'. Or maybe it's you. From the way he's eyeing you, I think he finds you yummy.

Aubrey: <blushess> Eh hem, <shakes self and refocuses> Well, it's been a huge year for you. You've released six books, the latest, Alien Caged, reached #3 in overall erotica sales on Amazon. I have to say Clan Zemos was mouth watering. I do love the silver foxes. What made you want to cover a mature clan?

Tracy: Because I'm a mature woman. Well, I'm a middle-aged woman at any rate; maturity is a different matter. I'm 46, post-menopausal (like Elisa, I went through that early), and a lot of my readers are my age or older. It was time to give us a clan of our own. I wanted to have a heroine who could articulate more of our concerns in this stage of life. Not every erotic heroine has to be a 20-something. When women hit their 40's, 50's and beyond we don't shrivel up and knit afghans until we die. We are still sensual beings, maybe even more so than when we were young chippies on the prowl in clubs. I know I'm much more comfortable in my own skin at this age, and I'm eager to explore what it is that makes me feel good. It seems like when I was in my 20's and even into my early 30's, it was all about meeting others' expectations and putting myself in last place. I think a lot of women do that because of marriages, children, and career.

Plus I wanted to explore a relationship that wasn't focused so much on saving Kalquorian culture by procreating. I wanted it to be all about the men and woman themselves, the dynamic they shared between each other  because the relationship was completely their choice. There was no 'higher' purpose to start a relationship for Elisa and Clan Zemos. They did it because they fell in love and couldn't imagine life without each other.

Aubrey: Alien Caged really does have a beautiful love story that can be appreciated at any age. It's nice to be reminded sex and romance isn't only for the young. Although, just for fun, I think I'll try my hand at knitting anyways.

Great for family Christmas presents

No sitting room chair is complete without one of these

Aubrey: I know you are planning some Clan Companion books. These will be the stories for the Kalquorians who are not interested in women and decide to clan homosexual Earth males. Was I crazy or can we look forward to seeing a certain character from Alien Caged as the first Earth male getting clanned?

Tracy: Though the character you refer to will get his own story in the future, his won't be the first. I'm off with someone else instead. I realize this may not be a popular decision, but the Clan Companion series will actually start all the way back at the time when Kalquor first approached Earth about testing DNA for breeding purposes. I want to write stories in the sequence of events that go from that time up to where the regular Clans of Kalquor series ends up. Obviously, that puts the story of the character from Alien Caged some time in the future. For those eager to see how things go between that particular Earther and Nobek, it's going to be a long wait. Sorry!

Aubrey: Tracy, you're killing me over here. I'm really excited you're going to cover when Earth was just getting into space travel and being approached by Kalquor, but I'm super bummed. The chemistry and naughty factor between those two is off the charts. Way to tease! Too cruel.

Tracy: I really want to get to their story right away too, but something keeps telling me to establish the companions issue from the beginning. I have to obey the voices in my head, or they make my life miserable.

Aubrey: Well, who am I to argue with the voices in your head? They seem to know what they are doing. :) There was a huge plot twist in Alien Caged that affects the series. How big of a role will that be playing in future Kalquor books? Will the conclusion of that story line end the series?

Tracy: If my readers knew just how complicated things are going to get in future installments, they'd not believe it. Kalquor's enemies are growing in numbers, within and outside of the Empire. I know how the next 7(!!!) books are supposed to happen, but things can change. Book 9, Alien Indiscretions, was originally titled Alien Revolt. Then Revolt splintered into six seperate books (of which Indiscretions is the first) because the twists kept coming and the story got bigger and bigger. The revelations coming are just insane. You can't imagine.

There is a lonely little tale not related to the Revolt sextuplets that comes after that group of books. That means the series won't end with the whole Basma/Holy Leader/Empire resolution. What happens after Book 15, I don't know. Every time I've ever thought the main series was ready to come to an end, more stories suddenly erupted. We'll just have to wait and see.

Aubrey: I'm going to pretend I didn't hear any of that first part so I don't drive myself crazy, wondering about all those planned revelations, for the next year or so. I am however glad those stories keep erupting. I'm not ready to see the series end yet either.

On a different note, you are looking fit and fabulous after getting ready for your 5k you recently ran. It comes as no surprised you are slowing it down for a while. You hammered out six book this year including Shalia's Diary (which I will get to before you leave). The end of the year is quickly approaching. Do you plan on releasing any more books before New Years?

Tracy: I'm done with new books for the year. Shalia's Diary Book 2 is in final edits and hopefully will come out in book format sometime in November (I hope). In December I get the rights back for Clans of Kalquor 2: Alien Rule, and I plan to re-release it as fast as possible. The current publisher has pulled it from all distributors at this time to offer it exculsively on their site. The link for that is http://store.newconceptspublishing.com/tracy-st.-john/alien-rule-kalquor-ii/. I know a lot of new readers have been looking for Alien Rule. It's out there, but most don't know where to find it. I apologize for the inconvenience, but that situation is completely out of my hands.

I would like to point out that the edits I'm doing to Alien Rule are mostly grammar and clarity-related. I didn't overhaul this book like I did Alien Embrace. Other than a little bit added to the story of Clajak'ss great grandmother who was not fully clanned when her parents died, nothing new has been put in Rule. I do not recommend people who have the original Alien Rule go out and by the new version. I think you'd be wasting your money.

Aubrey:  Alien Rule is one of my all time favorite books. Your new readers are in for a treat when they finally get their hand on that book. What is your current big WIP we can expect to see out for 2014?

Tracy: My next new book to come out will be Clan Beginnings: Clan, Honor, and Empire. It will cover the formation of Clan Rajhir, the heroes from Alien Embrace. I'm about a quarter of the way through the first draft and hope to release the book in March.

Aubrey: Well, on behalf of my fellow FoKs, I have to ask about Shalia's Diary your serial space opera. You have some fans that aren't used to serials that are going nuts. I do have to say some ladies need to wait for it to come out in book form and stop getting nasty in the comments section. Spankings and corner time may be administered by the scary Nobek that is eyeing me down right now, if the ugliness continues. Although I'm not sure how much of a deterrent that would be. I'm feeling like misbehaving myself.

Oh, yeah, that was definitely a growl. <shiver> Tracy, I think I'm having hot flashes over here. How do you work like this?

Tracy: I take a lot of recreational breaks. *naughty grin*

Aubrey: Speaking of hormonal surges, how long will you be torturing us with this pregnancy scare?

Tracy: Who said anything about pregnancy? I never did. There are lots of assumptions going on over Shalia's Diary, some of which may or may not be correct. I rarely comment on that story for fear of giving stuff away ahead of time. Shalia's current diagnosis is one of those things I'm not quite ready to divulge.... but I will let you know it will come to light in a couple of weeks. *wink, wink, nugdge*

Aubrey: <valiantly refrains from burring  head in throw pillow to scream and weep in frustration and bang head on coffee table>

Tracy: As for torturing readers, I don't string things along in Shalia's Diary in order to be mean. That's the truth, as little as most would believe it! I simply try to keep events and realizations for Shalia in 'real time' as I imagine would actually happen. Real life goes at a snail's pace, or so it seems when you're chomping at the bit to get to the next great event. Also, when you're in the middle of the action as Shalia is, you don't always pick up on the nuances of the situation. It seemed like everyone knew early on that Matt King was a snake in the grass - everyone but Shalia. In real life, we're often willfully blind. I think Shalia wanted to believe everyone didn't think she was a traitor, so she allowed herself to be snowed by Matt.

Aubrey: Too true. I take back mentally wanting to slap Shalia this past week. <sigh> There have been some really snide unpleasant comments about the direction you've taken Shalia's Diary. How do you feel about those making ugly remarks.

Tracy: With a serial story, it's inevitable that people are going to get impatient. I felt that way when Stephen King published The Green Mile as a serial years ago. I couldn't wait for the next bit to come out. So I get that some readers might get frustrated from time to time with Shalia's Diary. However, I've always been up front with the fact that this is like a soap opera with no planned end in sight. I know the majority of my readers understand how an ongoing blog like Shalia's Diary works. Unless everyone wants the story to come to an end, there are going to be cliffhangers and unrequited situations that go on for some time. That's the nature of the serial beast.

Aubrey: I know you have serious outlines for your books. How far out into Shalia's Diary have you already written and planned?

Tracy: The third storyline, which everyone is reading right now, has been completely written. Shalia's Diary Book 3 is, for all intents and purposes, a done deal. I'm not writing it on the fly, which many seem to think I am. What everyone is reading now I wrote about 6 months ago. It has to be finished way ahead of time so that I can garantee I won't write myself into a corner with an impossible scenario. I'm already busy writing the fourth book, which has been plotted out in it's entirety.

Aubrey: With everything written in advance, do you have any plans to post more than twice a week?

Tracy: No, I can't release more than two entries a week or I'll fall behind. This pace is the only way I can continue to keep Shalia's Diary going and write the other books.... you know, the ones that pay the bills.

Aubrey: What made you want to write a serial or Space Opera?

Tracy: My readers. They love the Kalquor universe as much as I do and couldn't wait to continue on in some fashion between books. I owe all my success to the readers, and I wanted to give them something to show them how much they mean to me. Shalia's Diary is my gift to them, a story that goes on and on until we all get tired of it.

Aubrey: Has the experience been more challenging or easier?

Tracy: A little of both, depending on the day and the situation. Stories 1-3 were pretty easy. I knew how they would roll almost from the moment I first thought about doing a serial story. Book 4 was a little more daunting. I sat down to plot the fourth story line without a clue as to what it would be! I had absolutely no idea what mess Shalia would get herself into next. Fortunately, an idea hit pretty quick, and I am flying on it now. It's going to be amazing if I do it right.

Aubrey: I'm hopelessly addicted to Shalia's Diary and look forward to reading all the adventures you have in story for her and the future Clans of Kalquor. Thank you so much for being here Tracy!!

Tracy: Thanks for having me! It was fun.

Aubrey: Please feel free to leave the fellas here, <leans close to whisper>, especially the growler. <growls erupt from side of the room> Damn Kalquorian hearing.

Tracy: He's all yours. I have enough of these big guys to keep me busy.

Well, it looks like I have a Nobek filled afternoon to look forward to. : ) If you haven't already gotten Alien Caged, what are you waiting for?!

My Atonement To Sister Katherine

Have you ever been so uninterested in a book you want nothing to do with it but some force in the universe compels you to read it anyways? Then you read it and it's so good that it blows you out of the water to sit momentarily stunned on the shores of your mind?

Sister Katherine by Tracy St. John was that book for me. I had no desire to read this book at all.

I know!

I would like to atone for my momentary insanity so let me explain.

First I loved Alien Conquest and I had a feeling Sister Katherine was going to be the opposite side of the coin to that story, which I wasn't excited about at all. Second the only thing I hate more than a naive prissy virgin is a pious naive prissy virgin surrounded by understanding 'hands off' heroes. Gag me with a spoon.

So yeah, I had some preconceived notions. The thing is I'm a dedicated FoK, heart and soul, so I had to read it if only for a glimpse of my book boyfriends Lidon, Tranis and Degorsk.

My fellow FoKs, if you even thought for a second about not reading this book run, don't walk, to obtain and devour a copy of this book.

Some of this I put in my review on Amazon but I believe it's worth repeating and in more depth.

Yes, Katherine is an extremely naive virgin, uneducated about sex as well as many of the intimate workings of her body, and also extremely religious, but I was pleasantly surprised that it never went so over the top to be obnoxious.

I was prepared to be completely annoyed with Katherine. I also expected to be frustrated with Clan Simdow, but while tentative and understanding they are always gently coaxing Katherine into making this book the scorching erotic fiction Tracy St. John fan's adore.

There is more 'considerate love making' in this book than any other Kalquor story but damn, it's some of the hottest fucking 'considerate love making' I've read. There is plenty of the not so considerate loving also. So. Damn. HOT.

I'm not sure how Tracy St. John didn't go cross eyed from writing this book.

Sister Katherine is a slow burn that goes from stroking the embers to pantie melting raging inferno. This character driven story builds up to blazing hot love scenes that blend seamlessly with the emotionally charged space conflict and turmoil on Earth. Sister Katherine takes us past the devastation that happens at the end of Alien Conquest to the new reality for the aspirants or young charges of the convent.

Sister Katherine is engaging as well as an emotionally moving story. I teared up quite a few time through the second half of this story.

I could hardly put this book down and ended up staying up till 3am to finish it. I can't drink caffeine and I have an early riser. I usually don't stay up past midnight for anything. I could not put it down.

Hands down my favorite book Tracy St. John has put out this year and that includes the re-release Alien Embrace.  It's officially in my top five favorite Kalquor stories. Yep, I think Sister Katherine is that good.

349 pages clear your schedule

Warning: Mild BDSM, captive sex/forced seduction (doesn't seem forced at any point), anal play/intercourse, bondage, Dom/sub play, and of course multiple sex partners, (m/f/m/m)

I'm a Crazy FoKer

Warning: This post is a long one and contains gushing reviews of my all time favorite sci-fi erotic series and author and maybe a few rants.

#iheartscifi

The erotic sci-fi/ fantasy novels with a more an explicit 'omph' getting noticed always tend to be vampire, werewolves and shifter series. Ladies and (maybe some gentlemen), vampires, werewolves and shifters are great, but what about aliens?! Oh yeah, they have super hot sex too.

There is nothing I love more than the idea of burning up the sheets with some foreign bodied alien on a planet far far away. And there is no one who writes panty dripping alien sex better than Tracy St. John. She is, hands down, my all time favorite sci-fi erotic author. I adore Tracy St. John and every single alien book she has ever written, but I'm not biased or anything. It's just that, every idea/scenario that has ever given me a mental hard has appeared in her books.

Seriously, it's as if the woman is in my mind rooting through my naughty files for material. No sooner than I think, Oh man, that would be so hot, and boom, it's in one of her books. And I have some pretty wicked thoughts people. I'm pretty sure my first pubescent panty tingle was caused by the thought of Lieutenant Worf and Leonard Nimoy's Mister Spock getting it on.

Seriously, how hot would that be?

As if all that weren't enough to recommend her, she's got amazing page turning stories that have much more to them than just explicit material.

I was half way through re-reading all of Tracy St. John's Alien series for the third time when I realized, I may be a super fan. Like a show up at comic con wearing fangs, a form suit and two dongs super fan. I adore her books and I haven't missed a day of Shailia's Diary (online story featured mon and thurs on her blog site).

Yep, I've eclipsed rational fandom. My husband is concerned but I'm embracing it. In all dorky honesty I don't think I could keep myself from seriously geeking out over anything Kalquorian. <---super hot alien race, I'll get to that in a minute. I almost called this blog I heart Kalquor, and if SnorgTees made Kalquor memes, I'd have a t-shirt, a pull over and possibly a hat.

Star Trek fans are Trekkies, Harry Potter fans are PotterHeads, Twighlight fans are Twi-hards, Karen Moning fans are Moning Maniacs and the list goes on and on. Hell, there is even a name for adult fans of My Little Pony, Bronies! So does this make me a St.John Slut? Eek! Matarra Mama? Kalquor Klinger? Kalquor Klingon? Clannie? Nope, we my fellow fans are the Crazy FoKers, aka; Friends of Kalquor.

For those of you who are not familiar with Tracy St. John, she is the author of the sci-fi erotic Alien series (Clan of Kalquor). With her Alien series she has created a space age universe where future dystopian Earth is ruled by religious zealots with a tri-relgion faith base of Judaism, Muslim and Christianity. There is no sex outside of marriage. If you are caught having sex outside of marriage your genitals with be cut or burned off and you will be put in a work camp where you will die. This includes victims of, as well as perpetrators. This makes for some extremely victimized and repressed Earthers.

The poor females of Earth are especially treated harshly. This is no suprise with the belief women are the ultimate evil fleshy temptation being regularly taught through out the world. St.John's depiction of her dystopian Earth interwoven into the stories along with the resulting human's mind set is really well done.

Besides misinformed Earthers, Tracy St. John has created quite a few different intriguing alien worlds and species in this series but the main group shaking things up is the Kalquorians. They are on the prowl to find a race they can mate with. The Kalquorians have been going extinct since a virus swept through their world hundreds of year ago altering the female genetic DNA of there people. Women are rare and women that can produce babies are even rarer. These guys now clan in groups of three. A Dramok or clan leader, a Nobek, the clan protector and the Imdiko the nurturer. (After reading these books you'll find yourself placing every man you come in contact with in one of these groups.)

The Kalquorians themselves are an average height of 6'5'' to 7'. They have dark Arabian skin, dark (usually) long hair, purplish cat eyes, hard muscled bodies (eight pack of course)and a need to dominate. I think of this as being a nice blend of middle eastern and viking warrior.

Besides being sexy as hell they have rattle snake like fangs that can unhinge from the roof of their mouths to inject a delicious intoxicant into their most willing (or unwilling) sexual partners, making the experience something to remember. Everything about the Kalquorian male is designed for sexual pleasure from their ability to sense arousal to there self lubricating cocks that taste like cinnamon & spice, making these guys the hottest species in the universe.

You may have caught the willing or unwilling bit. Yes, about three out of the eight books in the Alien series feature some forced seduction at it's finest. Nothing crazy! We aren't talking anything scary or vulgar, but you wont be able to read a review with out realizing that it's in there. Two books in particular carry the most mixed reviews, complaints ranging from 'too much sex' to wishing Ms. St. John would lean heavier on the romance spectrum, easing her characters into sexual congress with gentle consideration. 0_o Gentle consideration? I think they are missing the point!

My minds telling me no, but my boday, my boday is tellin me yaa-eesss!

I know quite a few people out there don't care for the yes means no, no means yes scenarios that has cum dripping down the uncertain female lead character's thighs as she pants for more. For all of you, please quite down and don't ruin it for the rest of us. Those are some well done hot, hot scenes!!
* * *

This past 2012 was a busy, busy year for Tracy St. John. She released not one, not two, but FOUR full length (quality) Kalquor books, making her my personal hero. If you aren't sure how impressive this is, sit down later and try typing a page about your day. Add some stuff to try to make it interesting. Then read it to yourself. Chances are it's crap and trying to get your thoughts together was like chasing monkey farts. Seriously, she's amazing!

Not only has she been releasing books like crazy (Alien Refuge due out in March!) she's also started Shalia's Diary, a continuation story that is featured every Monday and Thursday and is as addictive as soap operas to a 1970's house wife.

Now let's talk about some of these books.

Alien Embrace is book one. This book sets the premise for the entire series and is staged on Plasius, a sexually free peace loving planet. Amelia Ryan is an artist hired by the Plasians and is enjoying her time away from Earths trauma. One chance encounter with Clan Rahjir leads to an explicit night of loving that sets off a chain of events that end in the love of four and two worlds at odds with each other.

This book is 234 pages

Warning: This book contains Mild BDSM (bondage and spanking) with Captive situation/forced seduction, mm/f/m, m/m in memory sequence, rape in memory sequence but not by the heroes, sex with alien cock.

Alien Rule, the fan favorite. This book is just delicious. Here we meet the princes and go from Plasius to Kalquor while delving into the hierarchy of Kalquor. Jessica McIness is off Earth and she wants to stay that way. She's found sanctuary on Plasius but desperately needs to find a loving Kalquorian Clan of her own. After being played false by Prince Clajak Jessica swears off all clans. It will take the men from the clan of the man who hurt her to make her realize a love that's worth fighting for. Even if that love means starting a war between two worlds.

This book is 234 pages

Warning: This book contains mild BDSM, mm/f/m, and sex with alien cock.

With book three Alien Conquest we are introduced to the casualty of war Matarras or the Nuns of Europa. This story starts off on the moon colony of Europa that is a convent. Cassidy Hamilton is as intelligent as she is ripe for the plucking. Unfortunately for Cassidy her evil grandfather has sent her away for his own nefarious reasons. Clan Tranis is manning a spy ship when they find an undisclosed colony with a certain Earth General they've been hunting. All the women on the colony are a huge bonus and considered spoils of war.

This is the smallest book in the series at 196 pages and I believe this book got the most flack for too much sex and not enough action to the plot. *hand to forehead

Warning: This book contains Mild BDSM (bondage and spanking) with Captive situation/forced seduction, mm/f/m, and alien cock.
Side Rant; The story is an EROTIC sci-fi (not a sci-fi romance!) where a space ship full of male Alien spies invade a convent to steal nuns to mate with. Plus the warning of this book states captive situation with forced seduction and bondage....In the words of Bill Engvall, There's your sign! For those of you unsure this is a mostly sex based book with some hot no means yes sex. There is also my favorite clan (Clan Tranis) and some large plot twists for the entire series in this book. It's also one of my fav's because I'm a dirty girl.

Book four Alien Salvation takes place on post-Armageddon earth and features the sister and family of Jessica from book two. This book is also a fan favorite and carries you through emotional highs and lows that will have you wishing the book didn't end. There is a search party scouring south eastern America desperate to find Empress Jessica's family. Unbeknownst to Lindsey McIness the young clan she has offered up her self to for the survival of her family will not be a clan she's allowed to keep. Or will she?

This book is 202 pages

Warning: This book contains mild BDSM, mm/f/m, and sex with alien cock.

Alien Slave book five is fun fast passed with a ton of action and sex. She is a sex slave. Dani our impetuous heroine has sold herself to a Dantovon brothel to get off her Earth and save her from the savage Kalquorians. I love a impetuous female lead character. You know they are going to get themselves in some very entertaining trouble. Dani doesn't disappoint. As the spoiled/rebellious, yet neglected daughter of a high ranking politician on earth Dani has gotten away with a lot more than the average Earth girl. She's had sex and never worried her father wouldn't be able to get her out of any trouble. Sex never carried the same traumatic stigmas it carried from the Earth women we've seen thus far.

Now as a sex slave she's rolling with the punches and not crying over the not so great situation she's got herself into. That is until the very Kalquorians she sold her self to escape from buy her indenture service! She refuses to be owned by the enemy even if they are the most beautiful men she's ever met. Through a series of running and mishaps Dani finds her self stranded on a forsaken moon with a swamp that rivals the Princess Bride's Dark Black Forest with even larger, scarier creatures and league of Tragooms out for blood. Will Clan Gelan find there Earther in time and will they win over this madcap fighter they have purchased?

I absolutely love this book. It's everything I could want in a sci-fi space adventure with tidal wave sex that will sweep you under, only allowing you a breath before taking you under again. The sex is incendiary. You may feel like an exhibitionist if reading this book out in public because hot and bothered doesn't even begin to describe how you'll feel.

This book is 204 pages

Warning: This book contains mild BDSM, mm/f/m, and sex with alien cock.

Alien Interludes is a grand epilogue book, featuring a story from all previous clans. This one also has character and plot set up for at least two future books. I didn't want book four to end and dying to know what was going on back on Kalquor with the clans from past stories. This was perfect!!

This book is 316 pages

Warning: This book contains mild BDSM, mm/f/m, and sex with alien cock.

Alien Redemption is set completely on Kalquor and is was a thrilling read with a bit of a different feel than the other books. We meet our Matarra for this story Rachel Hick in Alien Interludes but I believe this book is set up to be able to read like a stand alone.

Clan Erybet is a clan torn apart by the horrors of war. Now their clan has come up in the auction and can start dating willing Matarras. Erybet believes a Matarra is just what they need to break down the barriers they've put around themselves. Unfortunately their Imdiko Conyod thinks a Matarra is the last thing they need to add to the mix even though he has already fallen in love with Rachel, his patient whom he can not date! Meanwhile a serial killer is on the loose terrorizing the Earth Matara's of Kalquor and wants nothing more than to get his hands on Rachel.

Alien Redemption is full of damn hot scenes and some really great twists that had me on the edge of my seat wanting to skip to the last page!

This book is 482

Warning: Mild BDSM, including spanking, anal play/intercourse, bondage, dom/sub play, forced seduction, voyeurism, multiple sex partners mm/f/m and homoeroitc situations m/m

To Clan and Conquer  Tracy St.John's first homoerotic novel is possibly my personal favorite. No ladies in this one, yet just as hot. The fact that the guys have sexual relationships with each other is only touched on and implied in all the other books. I personally would have loved to see a Kalquorian man train with a Matarra on top but I understand why the prior books were all about the Matarra. That didn't stop me from wishing and hoping for some Kalquorian man love and Ms.St.John delivered!

The fact that Tracy St. John decided to do Clan Tranis as her first clan beginning book just makes me love her all the more! I fell in love with sexy roguish Tranis, spiritual savage Lidon and incorrigible warp humored Degorsk in Alien Conquest. In To Clan and Conquer we get to see how (my favorite) Clan Tranis met and formed into the deliciously wicked clan they are.

Nobek Lidon is getting pressured daily to clan by his long time lover Captain Dramok Piras. Lidon has his heart set on Degorsk, an Imdiko Piras wants nothing to do with, and Lidon needs more from a Dramok than Piras can offer.

Enter Dramok Tranis, a young studly First Officer who is trying to build a career and a name for himself. Clanning is the last thing on his mind. That doesn't stop him from craving a reluctant Imdiko Degorsk and the captain's Nobek.

Lidon thinks he's too old to attract the attention of young Tranis and Degorsk isn't sure if he wants the attention of either men, but in the end the realize they are the perfect trio.

Again, I loved this book! The space adventure is fast paced and sucks you in from the start and the chemistry between these guys is scorching hot.

This book is 286 pages

Warning: This book contains BDSM, physical discipline, anal play/intercourse, bondage, dom/sub play, forced seduction, multiple sex partners, and yummy homoerotic situations, m/m/m.

Although Tracy St. John writes quite a bit of playful bondage and domination, it can also be forceful and a bit more edgy. She rides the line between the two types of BDSM quite gracefully. I respect her for being true to herself and I adore her for the wonderful characters and fantastic worlds she has created. If and when she ever writes a story in the direction of full tilt BDSM I have no doubt it will be an absolute show stopper that will have all reviewers with delicate sensibilities in a tizzy. I however will be cheering loudly from the sidelines!
THANK YOU Tracy St. John!!!
What's next? We Crazy FoKers are eagerly anticipating Alien Refuge out March 15, the first clan story that features a single mom and is set on a post-Armageddon Earth colony.
